Wall Bling

It was hard for me to get a good picture of this project because the room is so tiny.  The room is simply a very small foyer that needed a little more personality.    I painted the walls in a creamy white, then used a Hobby Lobby stencil and orange paint to make the design on the wall.   It was cute enough.
But I still felt like it needed a little something else.  I bought a gold paint pen and made small gold circles at each "point" where the individual designs met.  It was a little too slow for me and didn't have quite the impact that I had hoped it would.  Somewhere along the way I had the idea to use gold thumbtacks instead!  The Dollar Tree sells 300 tacks for a dollar and I bought 4 packs.  That's a lot of thumb tacks!  And the numbness in my thumb will attest to that!
It's such a fun and unexpected "bling"!  I love that I did this right when you walk into the house.  It sends a message, loud and clear, that this is going to be a FUN house!

I can't wait to show you where else I used the thumbtacks!  Stay tuned!

  1. So cute. I love the Moroccan style stencil and the tactileness and metallic hint of the tacks is perfect.
